About the Role: As a Senior Business Analyst at AMQ, you will report to the Assistant Controller and play a critical role in providing reporting and analysis to support strategic and operational business decisions. You will assist the Operations and Portfolio Management & Product Development teams, partnering cross-functionally with business leaders to conduct research, perform analysis, and deliver data and insights to executives. Your role will involve acting as a business advisor and providing clear communication to support decision-making. Added responsibilities include month-end closing activities, variance analysis, evaluating capital expenditures, and providing support to accounts payable and account receivable teams. You will also lead deep dives into various accounting areas and help with select projects.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Controls: Maintain strong financial controls in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Month End Activities: Support with month end activities including journal entries and analysis. Focus on sales, margin analysis, inventory costing, processes, and accuracy of inventory valuations.
- Data Reconciliation: Reconcile and analyze data to ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Operations Analysis: Partner with operations to understand warehouse operations to review and maintain inventory controls.
- Product Financial Analysis: Collaborate with product development teams to model new product development projects, analyze financial metrics related to cost, revenue, and profitability to support decision-making and optimize portfolio performance.
Reporting & Modeling:
- Ad Hoc: Produce ad-hoc business reports, analyzing situations and making decisions based on business information.
- Key Performance Indicators: Create and maintain key performance indicators.
- Financial Modeling: Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, business forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Quantitative Data Management: Collect, analyze, and manage quantitative data to create meaningful reports that drive business improvements, new strategies, and cost reductions.
Process Development & Improvement:
- Perform root cause analysis to uncover issues, using data to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Partner with IT to identify and implement improvements in financial reporting and processes and become a subject matter expert on financial systems.
- Develop scalable and efficient financial processes to support business growth.
Leadership: Lead efforts in maintaining data accuracy, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to ensure data integrity.

- Able to identify any discrepancies or outliers in the data, based on information or inputs.
- Ability to provide logical conclusions, options, recommendations and suggest analytical solutions.
- Self-starter with strong financial modeling skills.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills and able to quickly learn other systems used.

- Technical Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with ability to get into the details and articulate findings to senior leader and executive levels.

Experience/Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- 4-7 years applicable experience
- Advanced level of broad analytical and Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact and present to business partners, as well as identify concerns and propose new solutions.
- Experienced with, or eager to learn, technical systems including SAP, BW and Tableau
- Proven understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial statement analysis
- CPA or Master of Business Administration (Preferred but not required).

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
